The California state supreme court struck down the imitative to split California into three different states yesterday by ordering the secretary of state to take the imitative off the November ballot. Venture capitalist Tim draper who has funded the imitative said it was inappropriate for the court to block it from the ballot. The court will now consider the merits of a challenge brought by the planning and conservation league who argues breaking the nationa s most populous state into three states would drastically change the California government structure beyond what can be accomplished through a ballot imitative.
