Extreme Wind Forecast: PG&E to Proactively Turn Off Power for Safety in Portions of Sierra Foothills, North Bay!

Several Areas in Northern California are in a aBlack Outa condition this morning due to PG&E selectively shutting off Power because of the Red Alert weather conditions that are creating possible wild fire potential. These aBlack Outsa have been activated by PG&E following the disastrous wild fires in the NAPA and Sana Rosa areas last year that have been blamed on PG&E for lines that sparked flash arcs from windblown lines that started several of the fires. PG&E has under watch areas that include 87 thousand customers in 12 Northern Counties. A Placer County, East of Colfax to Lake Tahoe is considered a Tier 3 alert, and selective PG&E black outs will take place through-out today. Many schools in El Dorado county are closed due to the PG&E fire prevention power outages. Counties affected with outages: El Dorado County (Aukum, Camino, Coloma, Cool, Diamond Springs, El Dorado, Fair Play, Garden Valley, Georgetown, Greenwood, Grizzly Flats, Kelsey, Kyburz, Mount Aukum, Omo Ranch, Pacific House, Placerville, Pollock Pines, Shingle Springs, Silver Fork, Somerset, Strawberry, Twin Bridges)

Amador County (Fiddletown, Jackson, Pine Grove, Pioneer, Plymouth, Sutter Creek, Volcano)
