Fire broke out yesterday afternoon along the western edge of the Sutter Buttes scorching 2200 acres and threatening 4 structures.A The blaze blew up nine miles northwest of Yuba City and with winds pushing it along sent smoke into Yuba City and Marysville. Late yesterday CalFire officials said they have the fine 40% contained. Several communication towers are threatened which sit on top of the South Butte at 2122 feet above sea level and several Gas Wells are also in the current path of the fire.
