Congressman Tom McClintock has written a letter to the Chief of US Forest Service Vici Christiansen requestioning answers to the service decision to delay suppression service to the Tamarack Fire which began in Northeast California on July 4th. The congressman is questioning who made the decision to monitor the fire rather than immediately begin suppression activity for 6 days from the 4th of July until the 10th of July. The initial fire was small A but has exploded into a major destruction system that has created its own weather system which is causing major smoke and creating its own lightning strikes which is adding to starter fires inside the existing fire area.
