An elderly man mistook his gas pedal as his brake pedal and caused his vehicle to surge forward into another can in Old Town yesterday afternoon. The vehicles were in front of the Sun River Clothing store next to the Old Town Post office. One vehicle wound up on the sidewalk. No one was injured and there was no visible damage to the building. Auburn police and Fire were on location until the area was cleared and safe for pedestrians.
