The Sacramento man that fell into the American River A near Auburn on Sunday, was found by the Placer County Sheriffs swift water dive team and air operations late Monday afternoon. The Sheriff and CALFIRE units responded Sunday evening about 7 pm to a report that a man taking photos with his finance near the no hands bridge on the confluence, had slipped and fell into the fast current and cold waters of the American River. The emergency units called off the search about 9 pm Sunday due to darkness. The emergency teams returned to the river yesterday morning, and about 4pm released the information they had found 23-year-old Andy Odon Ortega Fonseca dead in the downstream part of the river. He had fallen in the river near the no hands bridge near the confluence near Auburn on Sunday evening. Officials have not released any other details like where the body was found.
