The Department of Water Resources has released a new update on the re-construction of the Oroville Dam spillway and emergency recovery project. Controlled demolition of the original 730 feet of the upper chute is now complete. A new foundation if being constructed. In the middle chute, a foundation is about 34% complete with crews installing sub-drains in advance of the permanent installation. The lower chute is readied for a new layer of concrete with epoxy coated steel dowels. November 1 is the date the DWR is reporting to complete major construction but other finishing work will continue.
