PLACER HIGH DRUMLINE AWARDED CHAMPIOMSHIP

Placer Highas RedStar Drumline, 22 dedicated Placer High School musicians, month was awarded the AA Championship at the Northern California Band Associationas Winter Championships after placing first in their performance.

Drumline is a section of percussion instruments that is usually played as part of a musical marching ensemble; in this case, the group marched inside high school gyms.

Placer High School Music Director Dave Lawrenson said students were judged on musical, visual and design aspects of their nearly six-minute performances. The team went undefeated in the seasonas five competitions, which he said is aunheard of.a
