State agencies and law enforcement are on standby today in case there are any unusual events around polling places, government agencies or at the Capitol buildings in Sacramento. Monday saw installations of portable security lights along with metal barricades protecting the area of the Governors offices. The California Highway Patrol officials said they were prepared to respond to any situation and would plan resources accordingly. The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services said they had no plan to reach out to other agencies like the National Guard as of Monday. Sacramento businesses along with other major California cities are installing plywood panels on their store windows to protect them from being smashed by protesters and massive stealing as has been witnessed in other cities throughout the country.
