A serial killer may have ambushed five men in separate incidents in Stockton over the past few months, shooting them to death alone in the dark. “, You could probably call this serial killing,” Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden said in a video from the Associated Press. Police remain unclear about why the victims were targeted. None were robbed or beaten, and the killings all took place within a few square miles of each other. Officials have tied the killings through ballistic forensics, and police today revealed surveillance video of a person of interest that was seen near where some of the killings took place. However, there is no evidence as to whether the person is the shooter or a witness.

Kevin Brunner, a candidate running for a seat on the South Lake Tahoe City Council, was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and burning some belongings. Brunner, 30, of South Lake Tahoe remained in custody Tuesday afternoon at the El Dorado County Jail. He faces felony charges of arson and vandalism causing property damage and a misdemeanor charge of trespassing, according to jail records. His bail was set at $35,000. The Tahoe Daily Tribune first reported Brunner’s arrest on Tuesday. Police told the Tribune that Brunner had seen his ex-girlfriend talking to another man at an area casino before he reportedly broke into her home. In a jail interview with the Tribune, Brunner called the police allegations against him “absurd.” He said he works as a security guard at “Hard Rock Lake Tahoe”, had been living with his girlfriend and didn’t burn anything. Brunner also said he threw items out the door to chase off a bear trying to break into the home, before he fell through the window and suffered a concussion. Brunner moved to South Lake Tahoe in 2012. In a news release announcing his candidacy for City Council in the November election, Brunner is described as a man who became in 2020 “the voice for the Black Lives Matter movement in the city” and has embraced opening communication between law enforcement and the public.

There are 83 ships now waiting at anchor, a record 17 days to unload in Los Angeles and Long Beach as of Friday night, a new record. Typical has been one to zero on average. This 17-day wait is double from a month ago in California Ports. President Biden promised to fix this a year ago in November, almost a year ago. California ports account for over 1/3 of imports from China or over one third of China imports to the USA. There is also major confusion over USA policy over labor contracts on handling ship unloading goods at CA ports, union labor on tucks to transport both ship goods and used containers to be returned to ships at CA Ports that are piling up and blocking transportation of incoming goods also. This again appears to be a classic federal government, state government, union clash that is shutting down goods and services to the USA but centered at California. There are also concerns this is a political move by the Gov. to force independent truckers and contractors that have been performing these tasks under contract for several years, to force them into union membership and holding consumers hostage to the higher prices on grocery shelves until they cave and join. The real question is why the press, Television NEWS and others are not investigating this and reporting to the people suffering on what is driving all of this.

A group of some of the world’s most powerful oil producers Yesterday agreed to impose deep output cuts, seeking to spur a recovery in crude prices despite calls from the U.S. to pump more to help the global economy. OPEC and non-OPEC allies, a group often referred to as OPEC+, decided at their first face-to-face gathering in Vienna since 2020 to reduce production by 2 million barrels per day from November. Oil prices have fallen to roughly $80 a barrel from more than $120 in early June amid growing fears about the prospect of a global economic recession. The production cut for November is an attempt to reverse this slide, despite repeated pressure from U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration for the group to pump more to lower fuel prices ahead of midterm elections next month. The important discussion is what does this mean in USA politics, gasoline prices, effect on all other prices in the USA, including food, household goods, clothing, daily staples required, etc. With insurances adjusting to wildfires and other weather related disasters, then added on, there does not seem to be a seeable end to the suffering everyone ,must bear for next few months.
