A school bus driver and one child passenger escaped serious injury yesterday as the school bus they were riding in, went on a wild ride off Bell Road, down an embankment, coming to rest on a driveway. The driver had picked up the child at the Tahoe Street bus stop and backed out onto Bell Road when the bus appeared to go out of control and careened to a stop off the highway. The Child was transported to a local hospital after her mother, who was trailing the bus boarded the vehicle and comforted her until an ambulance arrived. The driver reported he became dizzy and did not remember what happened after that, waited on the ground until he too was taken to the hospital by ambulance checked out. The bus was not traveling very fast and came to rest on a retaining wall after passing through two yards a garden bed and splintered a utility pole. The bus was on its first stop of many which would have added many more students.
