By Website on December 4, 2017.
Placerville Police Dispatch received a call about a propane truck that had fallen through a small bridge over Cedar Ravine Creek located on private property in the 3000 block of Cedar Ravine Road.
Police officers arrived on scene it was determined that there were no injuries to the driver and there appeared to be no risk of the propane truck spilling its contents.
Due to the location of the incident, it was determined that in order to safely remove the truck, the propane would have to be transferred to another propane truck.
Out of an abundance of caution, it was determined that the roadway would be blocked and fire personnel would standby during the transfer of propane. Once the truck was emptied of approximately 9000 lbs. of propane, the truck was safely removed from the creek.
City of Placerville Officials have inspected the area and determined that although the bridge on private property is a total loss, there was no other damage to the creek or surrounding area.
