California license plates are going high tech. Sacramento has been selected to be the first California City to test the new plates that will have chips and batteries, and will cost extra including a monthly fee. The plate will be able to be updated for registration, have tracking ability using GPS chips, and will play a part in emergency responses. A Cost will be 700 dollars onetime cost, and 8 dollars per month to own. California will join Arizona, Texas and Florida with Hi Tech plates.
