Placer county board of supervisors have directed staff to move forward with a proposal to modify the current county smoking ordinance and make the Placer County Government Center a smoke free environment. The current designated smoking areas would be phased out by 2021. Smoking a including the use of inhaled or exhaled products that produce smoke or vapor, and the use of electronic smoking devices a would be prohibited within campus boundaries, including on sidewalks and in vehicles. The revised ordinance will expand to all county owned and operated campuses located at North Lake Tahoe and Roseville. The proposal is scheduled to be presented to the supervisors for final approval in the fall.
