Thunder and lightning along with a welcome downpour of rain passed through Auburn and the area yesterday after no rain since May. Auto accidents on the interstate along with some trees down caused several traffic delays throughout the afternoon as a storm front moved east to the Sierra. Flash flood alerts were issued by the National Weather Bureau though tonight with forecast winds up to 40 MPH through Sunday.
