A Story we carried last week about a security guard at a Roseville Store helped Sheriff Deputies secure a felon wanted in Nevada who punched a deputy and ran away while being arrested has taken a new twist.A The security guard was an employee of Best Buy and seeing the incident unfold, he chased the felon and tackled him in front of the store in the Galleria and held him down until deputies arrived in a few seconds, and arrested the man, identified as 35 year old Timothy Trujillo. Nevada State officials had alerted Placer County Sheriffa s that Trujillo might be in the Roseville area and was evading law enforcement. Detectives found meth, stolen property and what appeared to be other burglary tools in Trujillio’s car. They were also able to connect him to several burglaries in Placer County.A The twist to the story is the alert guard has been fired by the Best company siting him for violation of company policy. Best Buy has zero tolerance of any employee involvement with attempting to stop theft and other legal events. Lt. Scott, Public Information officer for the PLSO said they were grateful for the employees help but stressed that officers prefer the general public not get involved with incidents like this due to potential harm to themselves and others.
