The city of Rocklin filed a lawsuit in Placer County Superior Court yesterday against Legacy Family Adventures and its President David Busch. Legacy was the company that the City gave a long-term contract to build and operate the Quarry park which was plagued by delays and other problems. An earlier story this month detailed the closing of the park which was to be open year around, by the city on January 9th due to cold weather and rain, and the same day the city terminated the 15-year contract with Legacy. A Rocklin has invested 4 million dollars into the project, and was to receive debt service payments from Legacy, which is had not received. The suit charges a series of mis-representations made by Legacy and unpredictable hours of operation of the park as well as several other charges of past performance and record keeping. The City if Rocklin reported to be reviewing a new proposal from Bonsai Design of Grand Junction Colorado to take over the operation of the park. This company was responsible for the construction and built the structures and has experience in operating theme parks. A formal agreement is expected to be approved at City Council meeting on March 12th. A Rocklin had expected the park would attract 120 thousand visitors annually and would energize the city and bring in new revenues.
