By Jerry Henry on February 20, 2019.
Gov. Newsom has proposed that at least 150 California National Guardsmen will be assigned to Northern California to confront the marijuana black market. The guard would join a federally funded counterdrug task force and focus on illicit cannabis activity in Northern California. These troops were assigned to the Mexican border under request from the federal government to contain control over illegals entering the USA from Mexico. According to an estimate by New Frontier Data, a firm that tracks cannabis sales and trends, 80% of the Marijuana sold in California comes from the black market. It has been reported that black market sales is estimated at 3.7 million dollars more than four times the legal market sales.
