By Jerry Henry on June 20, 2019.

The early vote counts in from the Loomis election on approval for the project “The Village” which has been a tough battle between the City Council and The residents appears to be going down to defeat. Early count shows 1280 NO votes to 656 YES. The project would have added 301 single-family detached units, 8 live-work units, 117 multi-family units, 55,000-square foot of retail uses, 25,000 square feet of professional office uses, trails and over 11 acres of open space and parks. It would have transformed the downtown area of Loomis and would have filled in the area from Taylor Road to I-80 from Horseshoe Road to King Road. All ballots must be counted by Friday.
