The US Forestry Service and Truckee Fire are planning an 1100 acre fuel break project to decrease the risk of wildfire and aid fire aircraft if there is a need to suppress a fire. The project will be called Glenshire Broackway Fuel Break Project and will start east of the Truckee Airport south to Brockway Summit. The project may start in the winter months of this year but the majority if work is planned for the summer of 2020.
