PG&E announced late Saturday that all Northern California counties and cities had power 100% restored. PG&E CEO Bill Johnson went on television and apologized for the outages and reported that PG&E did not handle the a Crisisa very well. He sighted failure in the companya s information systems, computer systems, and response systems. The PG&E mapping systems were inadequate and often way behind reality.
KAHI COMMENT: There are many questions that must be answered by the Utility company, the State Government and local governments before they be trusted by the population who universally believe this was a disaster in the way it was handled, explained, and executed by all concerned. The explanation given was not acurate, and many representations were wrong. In this day of high-tech measurement of all data including weather, and forecasting, the officials that made decisions appeared to be ignoring the data and the result was a disaster. The public trust in these agencies has taken another serious blow to their credibility. The simple question is, if the trunk systems, like a tree, were shut off, then how did any branch have power, and how could PG&E turn some branches on and off? Also, if the main trunks were not powered down, then, the Pioneer and Santa Rosa disasters could have happened in Auburn, too, during this so called a Black outa . There are serious questions here that need answered. END OF KAHI COMMENT
