An El Dorado Sheriff Deputy has been shot and killed early this morning in Somerset. Sheriffs were responding to a call and were confronted by a group of people that started firing at the officers. Deputy Brian Ishmael, a four year veteran of the force, was killed and a ride along person was also shot and injured. No other details on this ride-a-long have been released. Sheriffa s have two people in custody and are looking for more suspects as they clean out the area. The incident took place in the area of Sand Ridge Road and Mount Aukum Road in Somerset. This Deputy killing is ironic since tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of the killing of Placer County Deputy Mike Davis and Sacramento Deputy Danny Oliver in a day long rampage involving Mexican Citizen Louis Bracamontes who was in the US illegally and was high on Methamphetamine.
