By Jerry Henry on December 20, 2019.
The City of Rocklin has decided to hire a consultant to examine and investigate possible alternatives to PG&E for provision of power to residents in the city. Two members of the city council will be assigned to work with staff and and other local jurisdictions. The council also authorized a letter to be written to the Public Utilities Commission calling for an end to the PG&E forced shut off power and a second letter to be sent to Governor Newsom laying out the cities concerns of having a reliable energy source for the future. There are discussions ongoing on the costs while other Cities are doing the same thing.
