Construction of the Bowman Road Bridges Improvement Project is nearing completion. Weather dependent, Bowman Road is anticipated to open to the public the week of March 15.A Placer County Department of Public Works began construction of the Bowman Road Bridges Improvement project in April 2019. The two existing bridges, built in 1945, cross the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in North Auburn and were both determined to be in need of repair. The construction entailed wider bridge decks, widened sidewalks on the bridges and roadway approaches, additional roadway shoulder width for bicycles and more. This project partnered with local businesses and residents as well as the traveling public to ensure there was continued communication throughout the project. Multiple public meetings and ongoing updates were critical during construction. The project was funded by the Federal Highway Bridge Program and the Federal Highway Administration.
