The Placer County Supervisors at their regular meeting yesterday heard the second reading on the proposed change in the county to help fire agencies deal with maintaining the 100-foot space of protected property when adjoining property are not maintained. There are several issues yet to be resolved because of some fire districts not having manpower to manage the program. The County supervisors also received an update on status of budget management and a report on the virtual electronic system now in use by the Building and Planning department which allows for virtual approvals from the county on some projects, and on site reporting by inspectors. The increase in permit handling in the county is reported to be significant. A discussion was also held on the proposed increase of sales taxes for the Lincoln, Roseville and Rocklin cities to support several major projects in South Placer. The County Health head, Dr. Sisson spoke electronically to the supervisors with a phased in a back to worka plan which sparked impassioned comments by several supervisors frustrated at the slow re-opening of business and the disastrous hit on tax revenues and local business income.A A video of the session is available on the Placer County Website.
