The three men who died after a crash caused a car to overturn several times in Placer County were identified as 21-year-old Zachary Brown, 21-year-old Lucas Braner, and 21-year-old Lane Castro. All three men were from Roseville.

The crash happened Sunday in an unincorporated area of Placer County near Roseville around 1:50 a.m. All three men were pronounced dead at the scene. A 2008 BMW overturned several times on the south shoulder of Vineyard Road, according to a CHP news release Sunday. The preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and left the main traveled portion of the roadway when it crashed into a power pole. This impact caused the driver to lose control and overturned several times,

It’s unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Detectives are waiting for toxicology reports to come back, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

They can happen anywhere, but theyare most common in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Puerto Rico, and Washington, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
