The case of the Auburn City Director of planning and public works, Bernie Schroder, being fired last week by the city of Auburn, is focusing, as the facts are becoming more available to the public. Schroder had a 33 year career with the City of Auburn, and last week was called into the City Manageras office, and Bob Richardson, the city manager was quoted as saying to Schroder, a retire or resign, or be terminated without causea . Schroder stated she was escorted from city hall out of the building after 33 years of service. The City Manager, Bob Richardson has not returned calls to his phone by KAHI attempting to get the city side of this story. Mayor Dr. Kirby answered his cell phone and said this was a personnel problem and said that Schroders service to the city was appreciated. This was aired on KAHI last week. Schroder confirmed her statements to this reporter and referred all other communication to her lawyer, David Graulich of Fair Oaks, a recognized firm that specializes in these types of employee personnel cases. He has reported that talks are ongoing with the city and all options, are open at this time.
