The second person that was killed when a private plane crashed at the Truckee Airport Tuesday morning has been identified as 55 year old Peter C. Jackson of West Hollywood. The single engine Navion-B airplane was owned by Carmichael Lawyer Kenneth Whittal-Scherfee . He also was the pilot. The pilot radioed the Truckee Airport tower shortly after takeoff that he was experiencing engine trouble, and as he attempted to fly the plane back to the airport crashed in a field near the North Star Resort Golf Course. He was pronounced dead at the scene. One other passenger is still in a Reno Hospital in Serious condition. A Transportation officials are still investigating and issued this morning that the pilot had let his medical certificate expire. Flying with an expired medical certificate is a violation of the FAA regulations on piloting an airplane.
