Placer County Health has released new numbers of activity with the Coronavirus. As of Monday morning, there are a total of 390 cases in Placer County. The number of patients as of Friday in the hospital with COVID-19 was seven and the number of patients in the intensive care unit one. The hospital numbers are down from the previous day, 10 in the hospital and two in the intensive care unit. County health has given the county a a goa on entering stage 3 to reopen business and service organizations. There were an additional 127 cases of COVID-19 recorded June 1 through June 12th. Dr. Sisson, the county health officer said with the additional openings there is expected to be an increase in cases found. The city of Lincoln has seen the largest increases in cases. There were 30 cases in the city on June 4 and that number jumped to 76 cases on June 12, according to the county. That is about six new cases each day from June 4 to June 12. The Public Health department did not provide information as to the cause of Lincoln accounting for more than half of the countya s new cases. However, the department said that 21 percent (nine cases) of the 43 cases were attributed to food service and grocery workers and 79 percent (34 cases) to other/ unemployed. In other words, there is more intensive testing going on in Lincoln and is driving the case numbers.
