The campaign to unseat Rep. Tom McClintock is heating up. The Auburn Journal reports Pollock Pines resident Jessica Morse announced that she raised more than $294,000 during the fourth quarter of 2017.

It’s been years since any Democrat raised as much in a single quarter in 4th Congressional District. Five-term Rep. Tom McClintock has dominated fundraising in most of the recent races. But McClintock is a conservative Republican with deep ties to President Donald Trump, and money is coming in not just for Jessica Morse, but for her fellow Democrat Regina Bateson, who also raised $255,000 in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Morse, who spent 10 years working in national security before entering the Congressional race last year, says she is ready for the fight of her life.
