Auburn police are investigating a downtown robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon at 4:30. A man rang the store front door posing as a customer who wanted to shop at the Golden Swan Jewelry and Collectables store on Lincoln Way. The owner ask the stranger to remove his face mask and said the man looked clean cut and let him enter. The man ask to see a roll of chains and had removed a roll of 100 dollar bills from his pocket. In a few seconds, the man  moved the changing to his side and whewn the owner turned his back, he ran from the store with the jewelry. The owner chased the stranger but lost him as he ran across the street and ran down an alley by the Club Car resturant. The estimated loss to the store is 120 thousand dollars. Store has no insurnace to cover the loss.

The National Transportation Board has released another report on an Auburn area small place crash that occurred December 22, 2021. The crash involved a Cessna 172 which Was being flow after being picked up at Placerville and being flown to Auburn airport in inclement weather. The report states the pilot was on an instrument approach to ASuburn airport and had dropped to near ground level when it struck power lines, flipped upside down and landed on the roof peak of a home on the 9500 block of Miracle Drive, near the airport. Residents in the home through a large tree had hit their home and checking outside found the crashed airplane. Pilot sustained severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He survived, and no residents were injured.

A 30 year old antelope mother of three was drowned Sunday while riding a personal water craft with one of her daughters on Folsom lake. She was wearing a life jacket, and fell from the craft as it executed a steep turn in the water. A good Samaritan helped her to shore but she lost consciousness along the way and she died after being transported to a local hospital. Sheriffas report there was no alcohol involved in the incident and they are investigating. She is survived by her three children and husband.

Roseville Police Department is considering the death of a Roseville resident suspicious after finding the man inside a home on Loretto avenue. Life saving procedures were performed on the man but they pronounced him dead. Other residents of the home are being cooperative according to the police as the investigation continues.

Mtula Payton, the third named suspect in the K Street shooting that left six people dead in early April, was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail after being extradited from Nevada where he was arrested in May, records show. 

Payton, 28, was arrested in Las Vegas last month by officers from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and the FBI Criminal Apprehension Team. He was arrested almost two months after the April 3rd shooting. 

Payton was first booked into a custodial facility in Nevada. He then had a court appearance in Las Vegas before his planned extradition to Sacramento.
