The area remains in red flag warning status until 8 PM tonight. The warning started yesterday at 11 AM as winds continued to whip the area including many parts of the central valley and the delta. During the day Monday fire crews in the air as well as on ground responded and extinguished several fires near Madison Avenue, Near the Capitol Freeway, and in North Highlands. There were some homes in the areas near these fires were found and putout however none reported burned, however some outbuildings were destroyed. Again, red warning until 8 PM tonight.

The fugitive suspect in the downtown Sacramento gang shooting nearly two months ago that killed six and wounded 12 has been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mtula Payton, who Sacramento police say was one of the men who opened fire at 10th and K streets on April 3, was located and taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the FBIas criminal apprehension team. Sacramento police said Payton, who was found at a residence in the 1300 block of East Hacienda Avenue, will be placed in a acustodial facility in Nevada and later transported to Sacramento where he will be booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail.a Authorities say the Martins and Payton were part of two rival gang groups that squared off at 10th and K streets as the area bars were closing and opened fire on each other, spraying at least 114 rounds throughout the streets where as many as 80 people were gathered.

Paul Pelosi, husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, was arrested in Napa County on suspicion of driving under the influence. Pelosi, 82, was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers at 11:44 p.m. Saturday and booked into Napa County custody at 4:13 a.m. Sunday, according to Napa County Sheriffas Office booking. Pelosi was booked on the misdemeanor charges of driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08. He was released on $5,000 bail later in the day. When ask by reporters about the incident, Speaker Pelosi said this was a personal family event and she would not comment. She was in DC when ask about the incident.
