Another part of Gov. Newsomas State of the state speech came to surface yesterday as Silicone Valley tech companies digested the gov.as point of asking aides to develop a data dividend for Califoania residents whose personal data is collected and sold by high tech companies based in California. The gov. said, aCaliforniaas consumers should also be able to share in the wealth that is created from their personal dataa. Google, Facebook and Amazon all have created massive wealth from data mining and selling it to users that then target advertising to consumers. Also placing a tax on this data sale was also mentioned as analysis of the state of the state speech continues. Tech companies did not comment.
