By Jerry Henry on September 28, 2019.
Project Auburn, an event that includes the city of Auburn, Auburn ROTARY and the Placer County Contractors Association along with Old Town Merchants and volunteers, will tackle a portion of Old Town Auburn scheduled for October 12th. A group will paint the 128-year-old Firehouse which is already wrapped in scaffolding. The Claude Chana Goldpanner statue will be gently cleaned and landscaping will spruce up the segment of grounds that parallel I-80 from the Maple Street Exit to the Auburn Billboard. Curb markings and restrooms will also be freshly painted. Music, food, free t-shirts and lunchtime BBQ will be part of the fun day in Old Town Auburn.
