Placer County Sheriff Devon Bell announced yesterday he would not run for reelection for his current position as County Sheriff. Sheriff Bell joined the agency in 1992, rose to the rank of Under Sheriff and then was appointed February 2017 and has been elected to the post since that time. His current office term will end at the end of this year, and he will retire. Under sheriff Wayne Woo has announced he will run for the position. Bell said on Facebook yesterday he made his decision after discussions with his doctor about a back situation he has been suffering from.
