The Rocklin City Council approved last week a development of a new apartment complex that will occupy the space that for years was the home of the K-Mart store. This 15 acre site, off Pacific Street in Rocklin will be the future home of a 180 unit apartment complex called the Quarry Place Apartments.Tuesdaya s approval marks the culmination of a project that began soon after the former K-Mart building shuttered its doors roughly five years ago. The demolition of the former K-mart store is the first hurdle. This location has become a mecca of homeless in recent months. The developer says that this project is another step for the community to provide affordable housing for young couples that want to live and work in the area.
