Roseville City Council heard this week planed needs for capital expenditures that will be a quarter of a million dollars for 2021 and 2023. The departments that account for most of the project spending are Environmental Utilities Department at $123 million and the Public Works Department at $103 million. The big-ticket item for the Environmental Utilities Department are two 6,000,000-gallon water storage tanks, 40 feet tall and approximately 180 feet in diameter in the cityas west side to cope with the large growth in that part of the city. Another major Environmental Utilities project that will focus on Rosevilleas growing water use is the addition of six new wells in the city over the next six years, bringing the city’s well total to 12. There are several other areas of improvement that includes Parks, Recreation and Library projects; Road improvements and additional projects; and resurfacing streets through out the city. No decisions were made, and this presentation was for informational purposes only. City Councilmen remarked that this amount of expenditure is a challenge the city must meet.
