By Jerry Henry on August 19, 2020.

The City of Sacramento will no longer require standing, saluting, or playing the National Anthem at events held in the city. The language in the charter defined the procedure, and a vote by city council, without debate, removed the law. Darrel Steinberg stated earlier in the month that he felt this law no longer was required. This all happened after a Las Vegas man said he would sue the city if required to stand and salute the playing the National Anthem at Kings Games.
