Rocklin police responded to a call late Monday night about a fight on the Sierra College campus, which led to a false rumor of an active shooter threat. Lt. Scott Horrillo, spokesman for the Rocklin Police Department, spoke to the Placer Herald and said Tuesday that the argument took place in the dorms on campus between a male student and three female students.
According to a spokeswoman for Sierra College, the male student became verbally aggressive. Another student posted about the mana s behavior on social media, and rumors of an active shooter on campus spread.
By the time officers responded, the male student had left campus, according to the Rocklin Police. Lt. Horillo confirmed there was a no substantiated threata to the campus at this time.
