The state department of water resources received notice yesterday that the state office of emergency services has submitted their requests for reimbursement of cost for the repair and reactivation of the spillway at the Lake Oroville Dam. The bills have been sent to the federal Emergency Agency known as FEMA. These costs have caused some controversy after FEMA informed the state in March of this year they would not reimburse some of the costs because the state had not properly performed maintenance on the state owned dam. FEMA has paid $337.4 million dollars but the total cost is 1.108 Billion dollars.
