By Jerry Henry on October 31, 2018.
Residents of Vacaville are voicing anger at the Citya s approved project of providing a shelter for homeless people on city owned land at Brown Street off E. Monte Vista Avenue. The site will be fenced with Tuff Shed buildings for housing, and port-o-john bathroom facilities provided by Recology. There will be an onsite host, and plans for additional facilities for meeting, a shower trailer and facilities for pets. A The project will be limited to 10 residents, must be drug and alcohol free. Opponents say the site is in a residential neighbor and close to school children. Proponents say it ideal since it is off the beaten track yet close to business and public transportation.
