Unknown vandals struck downtown Auburn overnight early Friday spraying some graffiti on one side of the State Theater, and tearing down plastic letters from the Christian Science Reading Room and Church on Lincoln Way. A wood carving, one of two were at the doors of A Gelene Sorrentinoa s Clinical Message Therapist office and Matt Lambertas Chiropractic office was also stolen. Both carvings are on the second floor balcony of the theater that has locked gates at night, so whoever took the carving had to scale the doors and a railing to gain access to the space. Auburn police visited the theatre and took statements from everyone present. They also collected some of the plastic letters which had been broken and left on the sidewalk in front of the theater. Police will also search cameras that are present both on the street and on the church in hope of identifying the perpetrators. A A The wood carvings have a special meaning to the two Therapists as related to KAHI by Gelene Sorrentino. She said: asome years ago, a young woman who had been severely injured came to both of them and needed help to walk. She unfortunately did not have any money, so they treated her for some time until she had surgery, and then continued to help her, free of charge, through rehab. A At the next Christmas, a man who identified himself as the womanas boyfriend presented the two Therapists with the carvings as appreciation for their kindness. He unfortunately passed away a week later.aA Gelene said: aitas a shame when items of personal importance to someone over kindness and unselfishness help to someone unfortunate is just snatched away and maybe lost forever.a A Police are investigating.
